LFI’s aim is to supply total quality of product, service and technical support. To achieve this objective there is a fully documented quality system which has evolved from the principles of ISO 9000. A full HACCP analysis has been completed on all production areas and the necessary controls are in place to ensure the Company's quality objectives are achieved. Our experienced staff include food technologists and bio chemists. We invest in staff training and development and are proud that some staff have been with us for more than 20 years. All staff are required to complete the Food Hygiene Certificate.

The quality control system specifies the testing requirements of all raw materials and finished goods. LFI's laboratory uses industry standard methods and equipment in the assay of salt levels, enzyme functionality, baking powder, gas evolution, pH and many other product tests. The quality system covers raw materials stored in the warehouse and the hygiene management of the site. This ensures raw materials are fit for purpose with appropriate periodic cleaning schedules, correct product storage consistent with good manufacturing practice and the hygiene levels are monitored by routine microbiological assay throughout the plant.

As a final quality check the company operates a positive release system for all finished products. This avoids costly and damaging retail recalls and makes sure LFI customers receive only top quality products.

Deliveries are made direct to customers using nationally recognised and audited logistics companies. Specialist food-only logistics services are also available on request.

The Company is audited by the Soil Association and was the first powder blending facility to achieve blanket Soil Association Approval for the manufacture of organic food blends. LFI is also audited by CMI to the British Retail Consortium standard and is justly proud of having, and maintaining, its "A" grade status.
